Patricia Joyce Vincent Coe, passed peacefully on February 2, 2026, at her home in Plains, Montana.
She was born Dec. 30, 1945 to William (Bill) and Hazel (Butte) Vincent in Thompson Falls, Montana. Her family lived there for a few years before moving to Oregon and Northern California where her dad worked logging and road construction for the next fiveyears. Her family then settled in Libby, where she finished school. She eventually moved to Plains where she married George Alvin Coe and raised their daughter, Katie Louella Coe.
A hardworking businesswoman for much of her life, she wasn’t one to slow down easily—but retirement finally gave her the time to focus on what mattered most to her: her family, especially her granddaughters, whom she was insanely proud of.
If she wasn’t waddling around a track meet or volleyball game, she was likely in the yard — often with her half moon on full display — throwing the ball for her beloved great grand-dog, Winnie. And if you caught her at bingo or pinochle you could count on two things: she was having a great time and she was absolutely accusing everyone of cheating.
Patty had a gift for always knowing the right thing to say, even when it wasn’t what you wanted to hear in the moment. She was honest, steady, and endlessly supportive — the kind of person who would tell you the truth, then be right there to help you pick up the pieces when things didn’t go as planned. Her warmth, humor, and unwavering presence made her someone people leaned on and trusted deeply.
She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, sharp wit, fierce love for her family, and her ability to show up—no matter what, no matter where. Patty leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lessons that will be carried on by all who were lucky enough to know her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Patty was preceded in death by her Mom and Dad, brother Bill, sisters Robin, Echo Jo, Julie and Jill. She leaves behind her daughter Katie (Brad), granddaughters Hailey and Alexis, stepdaughters Sharin King, Debbie Marsh and all of the step grandchildren. Nephews Billy, Bruce, Steve, and Scott Vincent, Shane Whitmarsh, Kale and Cole Lauer and niece Rebel Whitmarsh-Wilson.
Celebration of life will be held at the Plains VFW Hall on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m.
