KELLOGG — Senior Draeden Taylor poured in 30 points, 19 in the first quarter, and the Kellogg Wildcats rolled to non-league victory over their county rival Wallace Miners on Monday night at Andrews Gymnasium. 

Taylor hit six 3-pointers, three in the first quarter, for Kellogg, which jumped out to a 25-8 lead after one quarter. 

Sophomore Cooper Miller led Wallace with 16 points.

HARRISON FLATS — Senior Riley Ausman had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Warriors in a North Star League win over the Tigers at Kootenai High. 

Junior Aiden Braz had 11 points and eight rebounds for Kootenai, which led 13-5 after the first quarter. 

“We came into foul trouble early, which slowed our momentum and many of our shots just weren’t falling,” Kootenai coach Mary Gentry said. “The boys kept at it, playing tough on defense and controlling the boards. Aiden and Dylan (Gentry) really stepped up on defense, with several players playing great help defense.” 

Senior Josh Moore had 11 rebounds for Kootenai. 

Senior Colten Imes and sophomore Cael Sala scored 13 points each for Mullan.

HARRISON FLATS — The Warriors beat the Tigers to win their second straight North Star League title at Kootenai High. 

Kootenai will be the top next for next Tuesday’s 1A District 1 championship game against Mullan at North Idaho College at 5 p.m. 

Freshman Hazel Stevenson had 13 points and three steals, sophomore Brooklyn Charles eight points, 15 rebounds and five assists and sophomore Madeline Loucks six points and 11 rebounds for Kootenai. 

Freshman Laycie Morris scored 12 points for Mullan.

BONNERS FERRY – The Wildcats finished fifth as a team at the Conrad Garner Invitational at Bonners Ferry High on Saturday.  

Nayton O’Neill won the 106-pound division, while Colton Storey lost by injury default in 113-pound championship.  

Braden Hayes took third for the Wildcats, while Aiden Figueroa, Jackson Spry, and John Brownfield both finished fourth. 

Kellogg’s Kalayah White took third in the girls’ 135-140 division.

WALLACE — In a nonleague matchup of Scenic Idaho Conference foes, the Wampus Cats stepped in and walked out with a win over the Miners at Kirby Krulitz Court. 

Junior Jesse Yanik scored 16 points for the Wampus Cats, who agreed to play the nonleague game after Wallace’s scheduled game against Coeur du Christ was postponed due a flu outbreak at Coeur du Christ Academy. Wallace and Coeur du Christ will make up their nonleague game on Feb. 19 in Wallace. 

Sophomore Lennox Radford scored 18 points for Wallace. 

Clark Fork and Wallace will play their Scenic Idaho Conference game on Wednesday in Wallace.
