Earnest James Pangallo, 88, passed from this life Feb. 5, 2026, while resting peacefully and is now in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Born to Jim and Clarissa Pangallo on April 18, 1937, Earnie was the oldest son of two. He lived his whole life in Idaho after spending 8 years in the Navy. He returned to Northern Idaho, working in the logging industry for companies like Roth Brothers and Lowery Logging, then became a Tugboat Captain for Lafferty and Foss Maritime.

He married Belva Ward on Dec. 4, 1959, and they raised four children and spent 66 years together. Earnie was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.

Earnie is survived by his children: Terry (Sandi); Perry (Connie); Dana Shapland (Dave); Cory (Joanie); and a brother, Cliff (Kenda). Earnie also had seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarissa and Jim, and his bride, Belva.

Earnie was very active in camping and enjoyed rallying behind the Zags, Seahawks and Spokane Chiefs. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and many friends.

Earnie will be missed by many, but now he is resting peacefully; his memory will live forever in our hearts and minds. We all look forward to meeting him again in heaven. Please visit Earnie’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
