Whitefish Pilot | UPDATED 5 days, 13 hours AGO
In the spirit of Valentine's Day, North Valley Food Bank is hosting its sixth annual FEED LOVE food drive and fundraiser throughout the month of February.
FEED LOVE will run for a full month this year to meet the unprecedented need for food assistance in our communities. In 2025, North Valley Food Bank enrolled 962 new families in their programs. North Valley Food Bank also recorded more than 27,000 pantry visits, a 26% increase from the previous year, and the highest number in the organization's history.
Food insecurity in Northwest Montana continues to rise as instability in federal benefits, high housing costs, and inflation stretches households beyond their limits. More parents, seniors, and families are turning to North Valley Food Bank for the first time, often while working full-time.
In the face of this growing need, North Valley Food Bank is inviting the community to show love by helping ensure neighbors have access to nutritious food.
During the FEED LOVE Food Drive, North Valley Food Bank will be collecting non-perishable comfort food focused on soups, stews, pasta, nut butters, cornbread mix, baking supplies, and other items that will help families and seniors stay nourished and supported in the cold weather.
The food bank is also asking for donations of essential diapers and hygiene products such as soaps, pads, and tampons.
Food donations can be dropped off at the following locations across the community during their normal business hours: Safeway, Super 1 Foods, Third Street Market, Marcus Community Market, North Valley Food Bank.
There are also convenient, 24/7 donation drop box for FEED LOVE.
The food bank is thrilled to team up with many great restaurants, bars, and coffee shops across Whitefish this year. Check out these businesses when you plan your next night out or get a mid-morning pick-me-up.
