The Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Chorale will soon traverse the symphonic universe in its upcoming performances of What Love Tells Me - Mahler 3 and Galaxies Beyond! Space Music of John Williams.

Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 will be performed Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m.

John Williams’ space music will be performed on March 14 at 7:30 p.m. Both will take place at the Wachholz College Center and tickets can be purchased at glaciersymphony.org.

Gustav Mahler’s Third Symphony has long been considered the ultimate attempt by a composer to express, in personal and musical terms, the entire scope of human life and the natural world. Through six movements, Mahler expresses what he hears from nature, mankind, and the heavens above, culminating in the powerful finale, “What Love Tells Me.”

Music Director and Conductor John Zoltek considers this one of the greatest symphonies ever written, saying, “All of nature and human existence is conceptually captured in this, Mahler’s most ambitious symphony. Immense in scope, Mahler 3 is nothing less than a sonic portrait of joy as a terrestrial, cosmic, and divine truth.”

Featuring the Glacier Chorale Women’s Chorus and guest soloist Anna Kelly, What Love Tells Me – Mahler 3 will be a grand reminder of the magnitude of life and human emotion, and the presence of love throughout it all.

Galaxies Beyond! Space Music of John Williams promises an evening of sci-fi favorites for all ages. This family program features Williams’ iconic movie music from Star Wars, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," "E.T. the Extraterrestrial," and surprise selections from visiting composer Gala Flagello. With the vibrancy of live orchestra and Williams’ masterful cinematic sound, audiences will be taken on an interstellar orchestral journey like no other.
