Police Calls: Juveniles choose poor snowball targets

Jan. 24 

There were 10 traffic stops between 7 a.m. and noon. 

A reckless driver of a black Ford Escape reportedly slammed on his brakes and was driving into oncoming traffic with no lights on. 

Jan. 25 

An unoccupied, running GMC Sierra was stopped in front of an intersection causing a blockage of traffic. 

A blonde, female pit bull was found on Columbia Avenue. 

Some neighbors on East Second Street have reportedly completely blocked the sidewalk with a trailer. It was moved shortly thereafter. 

The caller saw the driver of a black Audi drive into the wrong lane and then onto the sidewalk on Lupfer Avenue. 

There was a verbal disturbance on Central Avenue that included someone crying, a man making threats and someone singing. 

A very intoxicated male was seen staring at a wall and stumbling all over the place before getting into a vehicle on East First Street. 

Jan. 26 

Someone reported hearing a woman screaming, “I don’t care.”  

The caller said she thought her keys had been stolen while she was at a bar. 

Jan. 27 

A large, black, long-haired dog was wandering around Spokane Avenue. 

The driver who was unable to maintain his lane and was swerving to avoid hitting oncoming traffic was cited for careless driving. 

Jan. 29 

The owner of a red Lincoln Navigator that was abandoned on Highway 40 for two days had mechanical problems and was working to get it towed. 

Eight traffic stops in about two hours resulted in five warnings and three citations. 

Three juveniles threw snowballs at the caller’s vehicle near East Fourth Street. 

More children were throwing snowballs at houses on Greenwood Drive. 

The driver of a Hyundai was seen running a stop sign, swerving and driving erratically on Highway 93. 

A Budget van that was driving around on Granite Drive was suspicious but is thought to be an Amazon delivery vehicle. 

Neighbors noticed that dogs on Sugarbowl Circle were barking in an irregular way.
