The Whitefish Theatre Company is thrilled to bring the timeless Neil Simon comedy "The Odd Couple" to the stage as part of its main stage season.

This hilariously mismatched roommate story runs Feb. 19-22 and 26-28 at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. There will be a sneak preview performance on Feb. 19. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m., except for the Sunday matinee on Feb. 22, which begins at 4 p.m.

Hailed as one of the greatest comedies of all time, "The Odd Couple" opens as a group of “the guys” assembles for cards in the messy apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. Late to arrive is depressed and neurotic Felix Unger, who has just been separated from his wife. The two suddenly single pals — Oscar, a sloppy sportswriter, and Felix, a fastidious news writer — ultimately decide to room together, bringing down the house as these two legendarily mismatched roommates try to navigate their friendship and differences in a small New York City apartment. Called “wildly, irresistibly, incredibly and continuously funny”, this classic Tony Award-winning comedy by Neil Simon is a timeless show not to miss!

“Neil Simon gave us a good one with this show," says director Kim Krueger. “The 1950s was the era of the ‘ideal’ American Dream with a breadwinning father, stay-at-home mother, nuclear family and suburban hope. The 1970s was post-Vietnam war, women where continuing to enter the work force, divorce becoming increasingly common and free-range children.  Slap in the middle was 1965 when this play takes place…what a great era for a comedy about male friendship! “

Starring in this show is Malcolm Sharbutt as Oscar, Jesse Nelson as Felix, Matt Strool as Speed, Wes Hart as Murray, Andy Kriss as Roy, Tony Nelson as Vinnie, Laura Abernethy as Gwendolyn, and Alex Lamers as Cecily.

“I’d like to thank the crew and this talented cast for their hard work and all the laughs!," Krueger said.
