In a win or go home game, Bonners Ferry fought hard but ultimately lost to Timberlake for the third time this season on Feb. 9. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Badgers.
Eva Willis scored six points on 60% shooting and nine rebounds. Nolie Hiatt had eight points to go with ten rebounds. Both had four offensive rebounds each.
Taren Bateman was the team’s highest scorer with 11 points.
The game slowly faded away from Bonners Ferry, who never led. They trailed by four points after the first quarter, eight going into the half, 11 with eight minutes left and 15 at the end of the game.
While the Badger defense was stout, with five steals and three blocks, their 38 points were one of the five lowest totals in their 20-game season.
The Badgers finished the season with a record of 11-9, despite fielding a young team, with just one senior featuring in the rotation for the majority of the season.
Timberlake will now play a game in which the winner will advance to state.
