Laurie Ann Hughes Sullivan, 84, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully Jan. 12, 2025. She was born July 5, 1940, in Chicago, Ill., to Drs. Charles and Ruth Hughes.

Laurie spent her early years in Chicago before moving with her family to Oklahoma. She attended college in Denton, Texas, and began a lifelong career in retail clothing sales. Known for her impeccable style, organization and grace, Laurie took pride in everything she did.

She married Mike Wilson, and together they had two sons, Matthew and Chris. After their divorce, Laurie later married Glen Sullivan. Glen had one son, Scott, and together they formed a loving blended family. Laurie and Glen met when he helped move her from Oklahoma City to Bellevue, Wash., and were later married in Las Vegas at The Dunes.

Laurie was raised Catholic, later attended a Baptist church in Oklahoma, and eventually became an ordained deacon at Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake, Idaho. Alongside Glen, she worked in the family business, Sullivan Trucking, traveling across the country and forming lasting friendships wherever she went.

Laurie had a lifelong love of horses and practiced dressage in her younger years. Christmas was her favorite season — she especially enjoyed decorating, baking cookies and spreading holiday joy.

Laurie is survived by her devoted husband, Glen Sullivan, and her son, Chris Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dr. Brian Hughes; her son, Matthew Wilson; and her stepson, Scott Sullivan.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church, Jefferson and Fourth Street, Spirit Lake, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in Laurie’s memory.

Laurie will be remembered for her faith, kindness and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.
