Alberton heads to 14C tournament

Coach Cera Bestwick and her Alberton Lady Panthers completed regular season play last week with District 14C conference games against Hot Springs Tuesday and against Charlo in Alberton Friday.

Bestwick and company now head to Polson this week to play in the District 14C tournament, where they will meet Hot Springs again at 1:45 p.m. at Linderman Gymnasium Thursday in a first round game.

In last week’s game at Hot Springs, which the Heat won 65-13, Arya Ray led the Panthers with six points, Anya Porras added three and Marley Fredette and Peyton Lindauer two each.

In Charlo’s 63-17 win over Alberton, Ray netted 11 points to pace the Panthers, Fredette scored four and Porras two.

Charlo scoring was not available.
