Larry Dean Lenssen

Larry Dean Lenssen, age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 12, 2026. Larry was born May 17, 1943, to Leonard and Johanna Lenssen, and grew up on the family dairy farm in Lynden, Wash.
He attended Lynden Christian School, where he graduated from high school in 1962. Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. After receiving electrical training, he was stationed at Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake, Wash.
In 1965, Larry married his wife of 60 years, Janet Vrieling. In 1975, they moved their family and settled on a farm in Ephrata, Wash. Larry owned and operated Larry’s Electric and Plumbing while also running his small farm. In 1990, Larry and Jan began the development of Orchard View Homes. In 2008, they built a home in Malaga, Wash., where they have lived ever since.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Jan; his children: Kimberly Kalpakjian and husband Kent, and their children, Brett, Carissa and Bennett of Boise, Idaho; Kevin and wife Rebecca, and their children, Sydney and Finley of Malaga; Kent and wife Yolanda, and their children, Caiden, Wesley, Isaiah and Gavin of Malaga; and Keith and wife Jana, and their children, Jillian and Connor of Rathdrum, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his dearly loved grandson, Jackson.
How do we describe Larry? He loved his God first. He was a man of strong principles and integrity, with a deep love for work and any new project. Larry enjoyed traveling, and he and Jan were blessed to share many adventures together. He deeply loved Jan, his children and his grandchildren; spending time with them was his greatest joy, and he faithfully prayed for them.
Viewing is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, from 1- 5 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 201 N. Mission St., Wenatchee, Wash. A memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Eastmont Baptist Church, 400 S. Kentucky Ave., East Wenatchee, Wash. A lunch reception will follow.
