Sandpoint Future 6th Grade Boys winners of Battle Basketball Tournament

Full caption: The Sandpoint Future 6th Grade Boys basketball team, with just six players, won the Battle Basketball Presidents Day Tournament held Feb. 14 and 15 at a number of area schools in Clarkston, Lapwai and Lewiston. The team, which has now won five tournaments on the season and boasts a record of 31-4, defeated Hype LCV (73-19), the Gem State Warriors (68-23) and the Palouse Cougars (41-30) during pool play before beating the LC Chukars (36-22) and the Palouse Cougars (26-25) again in the championship game, which came down to the final seconds. The boys will compete next at the 2026 Hooptown Championships set to be held Feb. 21 and 22 in the Greater Spokane Area.
