Dr. Thomas Alan Spielman, age 76, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away surrounded by loved ones Feb. 9, 2026. Tom was born Aug. 19, 1949, in Moline, Ill., and graduated from Alleman High School in 1967. He also attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1978.
Tom married Sandra Jewell in 1970, and together they shared 55 years of marriage. They built a life together in Erie, Ill., where they raised their son, Erich, and daughter Laura. He worked as a chiropractic physician for 37 years and was known for his meticulous and thorough care of his patients and was highly regarded in his practice. He was generous, thoughtful, kind and greeted everyone with a smile.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed golfing, motorcycle riding, wine making, gardening and woodworking. He was a lifelong student of philosophy, religion, history, health and science. He was especially passionate about his family and faith.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sandie, son Erich, daughter Laura (Dave) Aggen, grandsons David, Asher and Christian Aggen as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bernice, his brother, Daniel, and sisters Lyn West and Christine Burda.
A Rosary at 10:15 a.m. and Funeral Mass will be held Feb. 17, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with reception to follow.
