Donna M. Munyan, 97, passed away comfortably on Feb. 1, 2026, with her daughter by her side at the Lutheran Home in Kalispell, Montana.
Donna was born on June 26, 1928, at St. Xavier, Montana. She attended the Native American Catholic boarding school until her high school graduation. She married Jack Wrightson in 1950 and after living in Missoula, Drummond and Butte, they relocated to Troy in 1965, which became Donna’s home.
Donna was an active member of the community, devoting her time to her career as a beautician, a school bus driver and raising her three children. In her free time, Donna enjoyed riding horses, gardening, quilting and cooking. Though she enjoyed many hobbies and wore many hats, her favorite role was that of a parent and grandparent.
She always treasured her time caring for them, baking for them and even processing their deer. Donna was also known for her own hunting skills, having harvested her last deer at 80 years old.
Donna was preceded in death by her sons, Jay and Jess Wrightson; her parents, Rose Marie Kessels and OE Hap Robertson; and her five siblings.
She is survived by her daughter Fern Hanley; her grandchildren Chris Hanley, Tyler Hanley (Julie), Brianna France (Chason), Jess Wrightson, Roselynne Wrightson, Charity Ovik (Seth) and several of her great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Troy United Methodist Church, 208 N. 3rd Street; Troy, MT.
Interment will be at Milnor Lake Cemetery at a later date.
