MOSES LAKE — The Columbia Basin Home and Garden Show will kick off the spring season Feb. 27-28.
“We have a lot of new vendors this year,” said coordinator Katie Villegas. “We’ve got some from Moses Lake, and some from the Tri-Cities are coming up. I think we have a few coming down from Wenatchee. So, the spread is a lot more diverse.”
Last year’s show brought more than 2500 attendees over its two-day period, Villegas said.
This is the fourth year Seed Garden Nursery in Royal City has organized the show. The first year organizers planned for 50 vendors, and the response was so great they wound up with closer to 70, according to Columbia Basin Herald archives. There were more than 50 registered Wednesday, Villlegas said.
“We run the gamut from landscapers to two garden centers including us, and then, windows, doors, the whole works,” Villegas said. ”Then (there are) quite a few artisan vendors that are bringing local goods.”
There is no food vendor scheduled this year, but Villegas said there will be a coffee trailer with pastries.
The show’s hours are extended as well, Villegas said.
“Friday will be 10-6 because we got some feedback that people like to come after work,” Villegas said. “Saturday will be 10-4.”
Seed Garden Nursery is undergoing a significant expansion, Villegas said, and that will be reflected at the show as well.
“We’ll be bringing in bigger plants and more plants and more everything,” she said.
