Kids use art to send love to firefighters
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 weeks, 3 days AGO
The children who participated in the 2025 Art on the Green Art Garden painted fabric squares for local firefighters.
The first group of these squares have been sewn into Quilts of Love, as gifts to the families of fallen fire battalion chiefs Frank Harwood and John Morrison, who were killed during the June 29 fire and shooting on Canfield Mountain, and for fire engineer David Tysdal, who was seriously injured and continues to recover.
With the remaining painted squares, a quilt will be made for Coeur d’Alene Fire and Kootenai County Fire and Rescue stations. The handiwork is being completed by Diane Solomon and Timber Ridge Quilting.
Art on the Green is also donating art for each family and for each fire station in Coeur d’Alene and Kootenai County. The art will be selected at the festival from the Art on the Green Juried Show or from any booth artist.
