Verna Jane Durick, 83

Verna Jane Durick, 83, of Pinehurst, Idaho, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, went home to Jesus surrounded by family on Dec. 10, 2025, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Verna was born on July 24, 1942, in Leadville, Colo., a daughter of the late Wesley and Maude (Lawrence) White.
Verna graduated from Kellogg High School. She married Jack Durick on Jan. 21, 1961, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pinehurst, Idaho. She was an excellent mother to her two children, Tammi and Craig, and took great pride in keeping an immaculate home.
Verna’s faith was deeply important to her. She was a devoted and active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pinehurst for many years and volunteered for many different needs around the church. Verna enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially gardening, walking, camping, going 4-wheeling, and picking huckleberries. She was an accomplished pianist and loved to sew. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Verna was the glue that held her family together, and she loved to organize family get-togethers. Many people saw Verna as a bonus mother or grandmother, and she made a point of keeping in touch with everyone. She truly loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Verna is preceded in death by a brother, Wesley White, and her stepfather, Victor McNew.
Verna is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jack Durick of Pinehurst, Idaho; her two children, Tammi Flores of Osburn, Idaho and Craig (Angela) Durick of Pinehurst, Idaho; six grandchildren, Melissa Chambers (Ben), Jacob Flores (Felicia), Kaitlynn Flores, Cami Durick (Joe), Ryan Durick (Rebecca), and Carli Durick; seven great-grandchildren, Jackson Flores, Ridge Durick, Ava Reddy, Weston Reddy, Dalton Flores, Coleson Flores, and Lillian Chambers; a sister, Ruth Jameson of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pinehurst, Idaho. Inurnment will follow at Shoshone Memorial Gardens, Kingston.
