Boys basketball: Indians sink Pirates

BROWNING — Noah Butterfly scored 14 points to lead a balanced Browning scoring attack, and the Indians downed Polson 68-52 in Northwest A boys basketball Saturday.
Jhett Cobell added 11 points for Browning (11-7 overall, 8-4 in the Northwest A).
Kyson Michel hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 16 for Polson (7-10, 4-7), which pared a 37-17 gap down to 46-36 in the third quarter behind 12 points from Malakai Curley.
Nine different players scored in the fourth for Browning to keep the Pirates at bay.

LIBBY — Matiya Nenemay scored 21 points, Kolby Finley added 18 and Ronan beat Northwest A rival Libby in the regular season finle for both teams.
Nenemay scored eight points while the Chiefs (15-3 overall, 10-2 in the Northwest A) put up 28 in the second quarter, building a 44-28 lead. Jhett McDonald and Tryance Matt also reached double figures; McDonald hit two of Ronan’s seven 3-pointers.
Tristan Andersen scored a game-high 28 for the Loggers (2-16, 0-12) and Bransen Holzer checked in with 19. Andersen had 13 in the second quarter.

ST. IGNATIUS — Logan Cuffe scored 15 points and Eureka outlasted Mission in Western 7-B boys basketball.
Cuffe and Rowan Burow had five each in the pivotal fourth quarter for the Lions (9-6 overall, 6-0 in 7-B games).
Lex LaFrombois had a game-high 22 points for the host Bulldogs (6-11, 4-3).
