WALLACE — A recent donation from the Wallace Elks Lodge aims to improve outdoor activities for Silver Valley youths.

Sera White, president of the Idaho Elks State Association, said the organization gave $1,000 to the Wallace Action Sports Project, also known as WASP.

The nonprofit is fundraising to build a new skate park and hosts events that engage families, promote active lifestyles and encourage young people to participate in positive activities.

“The grant is more than a financial contribution,” White said. “It represents local charitable organizations working together to amplify their impact. By partnering with WASP, the Wallace Elks are helping expand opportunities for youth while strengthening community collaboration in the Silver Valley.”

The Wallace grant is part of a statewide initiative through the Idaho Elks State Association. In 2025, all 21 Elks Lodges in Idaho are eligible to receive $1,000 Elks Tracks Charitable Community Grants.

A similar partnership is underway at Kellogg. The Kellogg Elks Lodge No. 1841 used its $1,000 grant to help restock the community food pantry located in front of the lodge.

White said the Elks Tracks Charitable Community Grant program continues to make an impact across Idaho.

“Over the past three years, this program has invested more than $62,000 into community projects throughout the state,” White said. “By bringing charitable organizations together, we are able to stretch resources further and create stronger, more connected communities."
