A 63-year-old man accused of pulling a gun on his ex-girlfriend in early 2025 received a five-year sentence in October.

Prosecutors brought Sean Patrick Schrammeck up on a felony count of assault with a weapon following the Jan. 30, 2025 armed confrontation on Fourth Avenue West North in Kalispell. Though he maintained his innocence at his Feb. 13 arraignment before Judge Dan Wilson in Flathead County District Court, Schrammeck took a deal in August.

In exchange for a guilty plea to an amended charge of felony criminal endangerment, prosecutors agreed to recommend Schrammeck receive a five-year sentence with the state Department of Corrections.

Schrammeck pleaded guilty by way of an Alford plea on Aug. 28. In an Alford plea, a defendant maintains their innocence but acknowledges a jury likely would find them guilty.

Wilson stuck to the terms of the deal at Schrammeck's Oct. 23 sentencing. Wilson also gave Schrammeck credit for 204 days of time served.

Schrammeck's ex-girlfriend was collecting her belongings from his truck when he allegedly pulled out the firearm. Standing about 10 feet away from her, he fired the weapon before getting into the truck and driving off, court documents said.

A witness inside a nearby home saw Schrammeck pull out a gun and aim at the victim, court documents alleged. A neighbor also described seeing the confrontation before hearing a loud pop.
