Public Notice The Quincy–Columbia Basin Irrigation District (QCBID) will conduct aquatic herbicide treatments in 2026 under the Washington State Department of Ecology Irrigation System Aquatic Weed Control NPDES General Permit WAG991012A. Treatments typically occur from March to November and will take place throughout most QCBID facilities in Grant County and parts of Adams County, including Soap Lake, Ephrata, Quincy, George, and Royal City. Herbicides may include copper, acrolein, endothall, fluridone, and imazapyr. Weekly treatment schedules will be posted at www.qcbid.org. Irrigation canals are located on U.S. Bureau of Reclamation easements and are for authorized use only. Warning signs are posted at canal access points. Irrigation water is intended for agricultural purposes; activities such as swimming, boating, and fishing are unsafe and prohibited. Canals are hazardous and may pose serious risks to human life. REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL WTP Cooling Tower – Air-Cooled Chiller Rental CITY OF QUINCY, WASHINGTON The City of Quincy is requesting Proposals including qualifications and cost from firms experienced in the scope of services for installing and servicing a supplemental effluent cooling system at the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) for the 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 summer months (May through September). The work shall include all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, scheduling, servicing, and other incidentals required to complete the work. Proposals shall include relevant project experience, key personnel qualifications, certifications or licenses, proposed system specifications, system installation and service plan including schedule, and any other information demonstrating the firm’s capability to perform this type of work, along with the cost of the work. A Proposal Request Packet providing detail requirements of the work and the requested Proposal will be provided to firms upon request to the City. However, the work generally consists of the installation of 600 tons NET cooling capacity provided by air-cooled chillers, shell and tube heat exchanger, and appurtenances (pumps, monitoring, electrical, heat exchanger insulation, etc.). The proposal shall also include diesel-generated electrical power to supply the system. The generator power should be included as a separate bid item as the City is planning to provide direct power during the proposed rental period. At that point, diesel-generated power would be standby. Registration / Notice of Intent to submit a Proposal must be sent by email to Esther Ulyanchuk, Project Engineer by March 03, 2026. City of George Notice to Engineering Consultants Request for Qualifications (RFQ) The City of George is requesting Statements of Qualifications and performance information from qualified firms interested in providing professional engineering consulting services for the 2026—2028 calendar years in conjunction with City sponsored projects with the potential for funding in part through the State of Washington Community Development Block Grant Program with Federal funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, USDA—Rural Development, and Environmental Protection Agency.
