Flathead Valley Community College Logger Sports will hold a barbecue dinner and silent auction on March 13 to raise funds for the upcoming season.

Proceeds will support travel expenses to competitions, including the 86th American Western Forestry Clubs Conclave hosted by Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California.

Since its founding in 1972 by Hugh Adams and his son Eyler Adams, the FVCC team has racked up 14 championship titles at the conclave. In 1998, the team made history as the first two-year college to win the championship and remains the only college to win five consecutive titles.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Wachholz College Center’s Stinson Family Event Center gym, 777 Grandview Dr., Kalispell. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under and may be purchased online at fvcc.edu/logger. The dinner is donated and catered by Bigfork-based D&T BBQ.
