Law roundup: It’s an ugly day in the neighborhood

A man wearing a green and black blazer allegedly pulled a gun on a neighbor. The victim couldn’t tell what kind of gun it was because they only saw the barrel. Kalispell Police Department officers detained the man and served a search warrant.
A caller wanted to know what to do when cars lined up at a drive-thru were blocking traffic. An officer advised the caller that it is legal to pass vehicles blocking traffic safely and said they would do extra patrols in the area.
Someone’s child allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine exposure in an ex’s household, which was stocked with drugs and fentanyl.
A mother called the police when her son reportedly broke a window in the house and then went outside to yell at passing cars. She became afraid when he came back into the house and reportedly blocked her from moving to a different room and then prevented her from closing the door. The jail was advised of the incident.
A welfare check reportedly turned into a jail visit when a man slumped over the wheel of a vehicle later drove up behind another vehicle, honked, and then parked again but left the car running. The other driver called the police to report that the man did not respond when they knocked on the window, but he was breathing. They also were unsure if his vehicle was in park or if his foot was on the brake.
A man asked officers to pick up a black backpack stashed outside of a store because he did not want to touch it, thinking it might be filled with drugs.
An extremely drunk man was allegedly asking customers for money at a business where the manager asked police to check on him and then move him along.
A silver Ford pickup reportedly crashed into a guardrail, causing a “good bit of damage.” The city Public Works Department was also advised as a large amount of oil absorbent was needed in the cleanup.
