Police Calls: Know when it’s time to go home

The police calls section does not reflect the nature or the volume of the calls received by local law enforcement. 

Feb. 9 

There were 14 traffic stops in about three and a half hours. Four were cited for expired registrations, four others for speed. 

Feb. 10 

A white Blazer appears to have been abandoned on Kalispell Avenue. 

The driver of a dark blue vehicle was swerving all over the road on Highway 93. 

The caller believed the back door of the bank may have been open or unlocked and wanted law enforcement to check on it. 

Feb. 12 

Two vehicles were parked in a lot overnight on Highway 93. 

The driver of a gray 4 Runner was seen speeding dangerously on Highway 93 and passing dangerously. His reckless driving made the caller believe he may be intoxicated. When observed later in a parking lot, the driver and his passenger appeared to be “spooky.” 

Someone received help unlocking her vehicle. 

The driver of a silver BMW was seen swerving across three lanes of traffic on Highway 93, going into the ditch and back onto the highway. 

Feb. 13 

A hit and run on Lupfer Avenue involving a Jeep was reported. 

A GMC pickup and a Subaru experienced an accident. There were no injuries. 

A black and brown dog was running around Armory Road. Reportedly, the forays are an ongoing issue. 

An intoxicated person was harassing people and yelling profanities at a location on Highway 93.  

Feb. 14 

A suspicious looking male in a military jacket was sitting outside an apartment on East Seventh Street with a pocketknife. 

There were eight traffic stops in a little over two hours around Baker Avenue. 

The front door of a home on Columbia Avenue was open and the dog was outside. 

Kids were throwing snowballs at a house on Greenwood Drive again. 

A driver was cited for careless driving on Highway 93. He was swerving in and out of his lane and nearly swerved into a police officer who was in oncoming traffic. 

A customer refused to leave a business on Central Avenue, and he continued to smoke cigarettes inside.
