Boys Hoops: 13-0 run lifts Polson boys; Bigfork overpowers Libby

POLSON — Kyson Michel scored 17 points and Polson used a 13-0 run over the third and fourth quarters to seize control of a tight Northwest A boys play-in game over Whitefish 52-45.

The Bulldogs (6-13) led 36-32 late in the third before Malakai Curley sparked the run with a driving layup. Curley finished with 13 points. 

Michel gave the Pirates (9-10) the lead with a pull-up jumper just before the third quarter horn and they never looked back. Michel knocked down 7 of 8 free throws down the stretch to seal the win. 

Will Sisson led the Bulldogs with 17 points, including three 3-pointers. Reyd obart added 13 and also hit three from beyond the arc. 

The Pirates advance to play Bigfork Saturday at 1 p.m. in Bigfork for a spot at the Western A divisional next week.

BIGFORK — Treker Hickey scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers as Bigfork beat Libby in a boys Northwest A play-in game.

Austin and Tamret Savik added 10 points each for the Vikings (11-8), who used three Hickey triples to jump out to a 21-5 lead after one quarter. Bigfork made 10 3-pointers.

Tristan Andersen led the Loggers (2-17) with 14 points.
