Girls hoops: Polson, Browning set up Saturday matchup

POLSON — Olivia Ramirez scored 15 points, all in the first half, and the Polson Lady Pirates defeated Ronan 45-29 in a Western A play-in game Thursday.

Moss scored nine points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in the second quarter as Polson (10-9) built a 26-12 lead. Hinkley Moss added 12 points for the Lady Pirates, who will likely play Browning at 2 p.m. Saturday in Browning for a spot in next week’s Western A Divisional. 

Browning beat Libby 59-24 in Thursday’s other girls play-in. 

Nefertiti Perez led the Maidens with seven points; Ronan ended up 6-13.

BROWNING — Dally Michael scored 11 points to lead three Browning players in double figures. 

Tess Trombley hit two 3-pointers and scored all of her 10 points in the first half as the Lady Indians (9-10) pushed out to a 37-14 lead.  

Riley Delmas had six points to lead the Lady Loggers, who ended up 2-17.
