Knopik brothers help Glacier defeat Helena High

HELENA — Asher Knopik made a layup with 15 seconds remaining to give the Wolfpack a two-point lead and Carter Knopik made clutch free-throws to defeat Helena High 39-35 in Western AA boys basketball.
Asher Knopik led Glacier (6-13, 3-11 in Western AA games) with 14 points. Talis Pitts added eight and Carter Knopik tallied seven free throws.
Seth Lieberg scored 12 points for Helena High (9-9, 6-7). Tyse Todorovich chipped in 10 but fouled out late in the fourth quarter.
Todorovich swished an early triple and scored 7 points in the first half to help Helena High open strong, outscoring Glacier 20-14 at the break.
The Wolfpack rallied in the second half behind seven points from Cooper Pelc in third quarter.
Glacier led 28-27 going into the fourth period.
After a back-and-fourth battle, Asher Knopik found the rim to take a 37-35 lead in the final minute.
Pelc blocked the next Bengals 3-point attempt out-of-bounds, and Carter Knopik stole the final inbounds pass to secure the Wolfpack victory at the charity stripe.
