Betty 'Bo' Marshall, 97
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 week, 2 days AGO
Betty J. Marshall, “BO” to her friends, passed away Feb. 16. In 1928, Bo was born in Sinai, S.D., to Otto and Ina Borsvold. In 1931, the family moved to Saint Cloud, Minn., which became home for Bo and her five siblings.
Raising a big family through the Great Depression and World War II was difficult at times, but everyone in the family pitched in, and there was always an abundance of love. Bo always loved music and, in her younger years, enjoyed singing in her school and church choirs.
After graduation, Bo trained as an X-ray technician and took her first job at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, where she met her future husband, J.C. Marshall, who was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. After J.C. left the service, they relocated to the Midwest while he completed his college degree, eventually settling in North Canton, Ohio, where they raised their two sons.
In 1974, the family returned to the Coeur d’Alene area and enjoyed life on their horse ranch near Rose Lake. While J.C. took care of the family business, Bo enjoyed her horses and dogs and could putter around her flower garden for hours.
Bo was preceded in death by her husband and her five siblings and survived by her two sons, Cliff Marshall of Cataldo, Idaho, and Jeff Marshall (Susan) of West Richland, Wash.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Bo also had a large extended family at Coeur d’Alene Bible Church, where she attended for over 36 years. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, at 1 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene Bible Church at 5350 N. Fourth St. All friends of Bo are welcome!
