LOCAL WATCH: Hall’s Wolverines heading into 2026 with 3-3 record
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 2 hours, 6 minutes AGO
Adam Hall, Utah Valley Head Wrestling Coach
A 2006 graduate of Bonners Ferry High, Adam, after a 19-12 win over nationally-ranked Stanford to start the season, has coached Utah Valley to two more duals wins — a 26-9 BIG 12 conference win at California Baptist on Nov. 20 and a 33-3 neutral site win over Chattanooga on Dec. 12. Most recently, the Wolverines have battled against No. 4 Iowa and No. 21 Wisconsin, falling by scores of 33-7 and 23-14, respectively.
"I'm glad our team responded well after our loss on Sunday," Hall said about a 25-9 loss to Oregon State on Nov. 16 in an article by the Utah Valley Sports Information Department. "We had much better focus and discipline, better intensity and intentionality."
Utah Valley has also competed at the Cyclone Invitational, hosted by Iowa States University in Ames; the Roadrunner Open hosted by Cal State Bakersfield; and at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, where they placed 18th out of 30 scoring teams. The Wolverines had four runner-up finishes in Ames and had six wrestlers place at the Roadrunner Open.
Looking ahead, Hall, formerly a three-time state champion for the Badgers, will take his team to the highly-competitive Southern Scuffle, which will be hosted by Chattanooga University at McKenzie Arena on Jan. 3 and 4. Utah Valley (3-3) will then look to avenge a 15-10 loss a year ago when they host BIG 12 rival Wyoming on Jan. 10 before hosting the UVU Rockwell Open on Jan. 11.
