Mediocre at Best is a little improv troupe with big dreams.

During the spring and summer of 2025, the Lake Pend Oreille Repertory Theatre Company hosted a 12-week improv workshop that ended with a performance for the students to showcase the skills they’d learned. After that came to a close, auditions were held for a more permanent improv team.

Now, after months of hard work, the troupe is ready for their first big break. The troupe will be performing at the Hive on Friday, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m. The troupe has performed a handful of small shows and cameos since their inception and are ready for a bigger audience.

The comedy-show format includes short-form games, as seen on "Who’s Line Is It Anyway." Fans of improv will see a mix of classic games and new ones.

Cory Repass, who will be acting as the show's host says it best, "We promise you that it’ll be the best improv you’ll have seen all year!"
