Three comedians will tickle funny bones for two nights this month when Coeur d'Alene Comedy Night returns to the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn.

Alvin Williams, who is organizing and performing in the show, said audiences will enjoy the top-level quality of comedy the performers will bring to North Idaho.

"The comedians you see on our stage are the same ones you see on national late night TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu or YouTube," Williams said Dec. 23. "Rob Haze has performed on 'The Tonight Show' multiple times, Ryan McComb has his own Dry Bar Comedy special out and I have multiple specials on Amazon Prime and Apple TV."

Williams said his goal is for North Idahoans to travel to a large-market entertainment city, go to a show at an A-List comedy club and leave it saying, “We actually get better shows back home.”

Coeur d'Alene Comedy Night's history goes back to 2012, but it was discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic era. It is making its grand return after last appearing in September 2019.

"Now that we’ve recovered from that time in full, we are beyond excited to bring that same incredibly fun energy back to Coeur d’Alene," Williams said.

He said he often hears that people get nervous about going to comedy shows because they're worried something controversial will take place, or people question comedians' credibility.

"That’s not what we’re about," he said. "We put funny first above all. We don’t have comedians chasing viral moments for clicks and views, just ones who know how to put on a great show. This show is here to provide levity during the time where people need it most. And I’m proud to be the provider of that."

Williams said he also loves being reunited with the amazing staff at the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn.

"It’s been five years since the last time we put on these shows together, and I very much felt like a kid returning home from college because the same staff is here who have watched me grow in my career over the last two decades," he said. "They have always been major supporters of the arts and the local community as a whole, and they deserve the spotlight more than anyone."

Williams said as a performer, he takes pride in this show for many reasons.

"The main one is the joy we bring to people who oftentimes get overlooked by national entertainment providers simply because of where we’re located in the Inland Northwest," he said. "I’ve always maintained comedians should go where there’s less of us because what we do is appreciated and needed the most on those places. I’ve been bringing comedians to North Idaho for over 15 years now and I love showing off our audiences to the comedians and showing off my comedian friends to our audiences. Everybody wins."

Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn Director of Sales Andrea Hester said everyone is looking forward to a fun-filled evening full of laughs, great vibes and exciting live entertainment.

See Williams, Haze and McComb on stage at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Individual tickets are $30 each, tables of eight are $205 and tables of 10 are $250, plus service fees. Comedy packages are $165 including two tickets and an overnight room and breakfast. Book packages directly with the Coeur d'Alene Inn.

"Our guests enjoy a deluxe accommodation, laughter-filled evening, hot breakfast buffet with every breakfast item, served fresh from our on-site restaurant, Mulligan's," Hester said.

In one world, flamingos and lobsters dance, the White Rabbit is obsessed with the fleetingness of time and a Mad Hatter throws tea parties with the March Hare. In another realm, bombs rain upon a besieged 1940s World War II London as survivors seek shelter in an underground tube station. Alice Spencer is caught between. One foot is in a dark reality where her best friend is dying from tuberculosis. The other foot is in an imagined world filled with characters from her favorite book, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," distracting her from her pain.
