Greenchain wrestlers strong at Glyn Brawley in Corvallis

The Libby Greenchain wrestling teams enjoyed strong performances Dec. 20 at the Glyn Brawley Classic in Corvallis.

The female wrestlers had three placewinners, led by first-place finisher Meghan Connelley at 155-170 as she made history as the first Greenchain female champion.

Teammates Lilly Harcourt was third at 140 and Isabella Barnes was also third at 145.

Libby was fifth out of seven teams with 15 points; Polson was first.

For the boys, they had four champions and placed second out of five teams with 202 points. Corvallis was first with 280 while crowning eight champs.

Greenchain winners were Ian Thom at 215 pounds, Maddux Stow at 138, Gabe Bassett at 132 and Levi Nick at 110.

Libby also had four second-place finishers, including Tanner Wolfe at 175, Jackson Riddle at 150, Bridger Bache at 118 and Barrett Moe at 103.

They also had a trio of third-place finishers, Hunter Rooney at 175, Tristen DeShazer at 157 and Corbin Wissenbach at 110. Bridger Moe was fourth at 138.

Libby is scheduled to wrestle Tuesday, Jan. 6 at Whitefish in a tri-meet with Browning.

The Greenchain’s first home meet is a quad Saturday, Jan. 24 with Bigfork, Browning, Frenchtown and Hamilton.
