Mark married Diane Johnson Schumacher in 1991.

Mark had many interests. He loved all cars, but he held a special place in his heart for AMX cars and Studebakers. When he wasn't collecting and working on cars, he was busy working on computers.

Mark served as the Director of the Coeur d’Alene Marathon for two years. Ran several half-marathons and fun runs. He also loved the outdoors. He enjoyed boating, riding his bike and exploring trails on his side-by-side, line dancing, playing cards. He loved cheering for Gonzaga basketball and the Seahawks. He liked to spend his winters in Yuma after retiring.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Nadya Gordon and Barbara Tanzi.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Cataldo; his nieces, Ashley Smith and Lyndsey Knapp-Lyn; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene and Linda Hill; and his sister-in-law, Sharon Johnson, and family and friends who will always remember Mark’s kindness and determination to make the most of his days.
