Montana State women best Northern Arizona

FLAGSTAFF, AZ — Taylee Chirrick led all scorers with 27 points and Montana State raced away from Northern Arizona 82-65 in Big Sky Conference women’s basketball on Saturday afternoon. 


Isobel Bunyan added 14 points for the Bobcats (9-4 overall, 2-0 in Big Sky games); Brianne Bailey tallied 13. 


Naomi White led the Lumberjacks (5-10, 1-1) in scoring with 18 points. Layla Davis contributed 11. 


Montana State led 25-14 after the first period and never looked back. The Bobcats carried a 19-point lead into halftime, leading 47-28. 


The Bobcats outscored Northern Arizona 52-28 in the paint.  


Montana State recorded 17 steals in the victory; Chirrick and Jamison Philip combined for 9 takeaways. 


Montana State continues conference play with a road matchup against Eastern Washington on Jan. 8 at 7 p.m.
