Poor shooting 2nd half dooms Lady Griz against N. Colorado

GREELEY, Colo. — Heather Baymon scored 29 points as Northern Colorado held Montana to just 19 second half points to take a 77-58 victory in Big Sky women’s basketball Saturday.


Aniah Hall added 19 points for the Bears (10-5 overall, 1-1 in Big Sky games), Gabi Fields tallied 11. 


Mack Konig led the Lady Griz (3-10, 0-2) with 19 points on 7-for-19 shooting. Jocelyn Land scored 12 and Aby Shubert finished with 10. 


Montana led 39-37 at the half before Northern Colorado outscored the Lady Griz 40-19 in the second half. 


Montana shot 6 of 25 in the second half, including 1-for-12 from behind the arc. 


The Lady Griz jumped out to a quick 14-2 lead in the opening four minutes. 


Northern Colorado seized control with a 14-0 run through the middle of the third quarter to take a 55-44 lead.
