MISSOULA — Money Williams scored all 31 of his points in the second half as Montana never trailed in an 88-79 victory over Northern Colorado.

In a rematch of last season’s Big Sky Tournament title game, Montana made sure the result was the same at Dahlberg Arena Saturday to move to 8-7 overall and 2-0 in conference. The Bears fall to 10-5 and 0-2.

Brock Wisne led the Bears with 22 points, while Quinn Denker and Ibu Yamazaki added 14 apiece.

Te’Jon Sawyer tallied 15 points for Montana, Grant Kepley had 14. Tyler Isaak and Tyler Thompson scored 11 each to put five Grizzlies in double-figures.

Montana opened the game on an 8-0 run and led by as many as 17 in the first half, 30-13.

After a scoreless first half, Williams found his footing from the field and the free-throw line in the second. Finishing 17-for-17 from the charity stripe, the Grizzlies were 35 of 38 from the line as a team.

Montana now heads on the road for the first time in 2026, facing Idaho in Moscow Thursday at 7 p.m.
