$1 million in scholarships available to Montana students

The Montana Community Foundation announced that more than $1 million in scholarships is available to Montana students. 

The foundation manages nearly 60 scholarships, with awards ranging from $500 to $10,000 each academic year.

“These funds help make the dream of higher education a reality, opening doors, expanding opportunities and empowering Montana’s next generation of leaders,” stated Mary Rutherford, President & CEO. “We are grateful to all of the donors who make these scholarships possible for students across the state.”

In 2025, the Montana Community Foundation awarded 227 scholarships to students in 37 counties, with the average amount of $2,000. Over the past four years, the foundation has granted more than $4 million in scholarships to nearly 1,000 students, with 70% of the funds going to Montana colleges and universities.

Students can apply for funding between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2026. A variety of scholarships are available for four-year or two-year colleges, certificate courses, non-traditional students, vocational studies and more.
