David Lloyd Kramer, 74

David Lloyd Kramer, age 74, passed away peacefully Dec. 20, 2025, in Missoula, Mont. 

David was born Feb. 12, 1951, in Princeton, Ind., and was raised in Mt. Carmel, Ill., before his family moved to Smelterville, Idaho. David graduated from Kellogg High School and later married Judith Curtis, with whom he had three children; though they later divorced, they shared many meaningful years together. David spent much of his working life at Bunker Hill's Zinc Plant and was just 10 years away from retirement when the plant closed.

A true jack-of-all-trades, David was known for his ability to fix or build nearly anything, and he especially loved baking — his bread was legendary among family and friends. He found great joy in the outdoors, spending countless days in the mountains cutting wood, picking huckleberries and morel mushrooms, and enjoying time with his family. 

David was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd James Kramer; his mother, Mary Lou Kramer; his brother, Kevin Wayne Kramer; and his former wife, Judith Kay Kramer.

He is survived by his children, Melissa (Ron) Haak of Wallace, Idaho; Danny (Lucy) Kramer of Billings, Mont.; and Jeremy Kramer of Eagle Creek, Idaho; his sister, Vicki Kramer Orsburn of Silverton, Idaho; and his sister-in-law, Lorri Williams Kramer of Elko, Nev.; as well as his grandchildren, Brittini (Greg) Hitchman of Oregon, RJ Haak of Osburn, Idaho, Hunter Haak of Kellogg, Idaho, Austin Kramer, Molly Kramer and Leah Kramer of Billings, Mont., and Carter Selander of Hayden, Idaho; and his great-grandchildren Braxton Haak, Brayden Haak and Fysher Hitchman, along with two aunts, cousins and many nieces and nephews. 

David will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, love of family, appreciation for the outdoors and the warmth he brought to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

At his request, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time.
