Tami Stormo entered eternal rest Dec. 3, 2025, at the age of 63. Surrounded by love, she is now at peace and reunited with those who went before her.

Born in Redlands, Calif., Tami spent nearly 30 years in Sandpoint, Idaho, a place she called home for much of her life. She later moved to Arkansas, where she spent her final month.

Tami was a loving, complicated, and caring soul with a big heart. She was known for her strong personality, quick wit, and rare ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Fiercely loyal to her friends, she often showed up for others when they needed it most and had a way of making people feel seen, accepted, and supported.

For the past 20 years, Tami dedicated herself to the foster system as a foster parent, and working at Kinderhaven for several years. Many children passed through her home — far too many to name individually — but each was touched by her care, compassion, and determination to help those who needed it most.

She is survived by her husband, Jarret Stormo; her daughters, Thi Markwell, Tawni Shockley, and Tori Burnham; her adopted daughter, Jasmin Stormo; her foster daughters, Kendall Finnerty and Maddie Misiuk; her daughter of the heart, Cassidy Palmer; her adopted sons, Michael Stormo, Ashton Stormo, and Mathew Stormo; and her foster son, Casey Finnerty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Helen Doering; and her brothers, Reagan Pert and Glenn Doering.

Tami’s life was full, lively, and impactful. She will be remembered for her dedication to helping others, her strong presence, and the many lives she touched along the way.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at New Life Church, located at 1925 North Boyer Ave., Sandpoint, Idaho.
