The Troy girls basketball team dropped a Western 7B road game Saturday, falling 61–46 to Plains at Plains High School.

The loss evened Troy’s record at 2–2 on the season.

Troy stayed within striking distance through the first half, trailing 15–10 after one quarter before matching Plains point-for-point in the second. The Lady Trojans went into halftime down just 25–23 after scoring 13 points in the period.

Plains created separation coming out of the break, using a 24-point third quarter to take control of the game. Troy was limited to seven points in the frame as Plains pushed its lead to 49–30 entering the fourth quarter.

Troy closed the game with its best offensive stretch of the night, scoring 16 points in the final quarter, but the deficit proved too large to overcome.

Hailey Dungan led Troy with 14 points, pacing the team on the offensive end. Nautika Larson and Olivia Hall each added nine points, while Kirsti Jellesed also scored nine. Aspen Orr finished with four points and Ainsley Huitron added one point to round out the scoring.
