The Rising Wolf Academy acting class at Glacier High School debuts its first stage production with the imaginative and heartfelt play, “The Girl at the Edge of Everything,” Jan. 14 and 15.

Blending humor, wonder and emotional depth, “The Girl at the Edge of Everything,” based on the acclaimed play by Finegan Kruckemeyer, tells the story of Simone Ives, a girl overwhelmed by an overbooked life filled with school, activities, and endless responsibilities. Far away, at the very edge of the universe, a lonely girl lives by herself, waiting for something — anything — to change. When a strange accident involving a spectacular number of fireworks sends Simone hurtling through space, she crash-lands into the girl’s quiet world.

As their unlikely friendship deepens, the two discover the beauty of curiosity, connection, and simply being present. Through poetic storytelling and imaginative staging, the play invites audiences of all ages to reflect on the pace of modern life and the importance of slowing down in a world that won’t and to notice what truly matters.

Kruckemeyer captures the balance between deep feeling and joyful silliness, known for his ability to create theatre that speaks to both children and adults. His plays are celebrated internationally for encouraging imagination, empathy and reflection.

The performance features an all-freshman cast, including Luda Khrupina, Adalyn Cummings, Iris Gagne, Robert Burgi, Natalie Kossak, Chloe Heller, Josh Chandler, Luke Eddy, Lily Fasson, Aubrie Youell, Aubrey Hardwick, Abigail Bernardo, Kandice Rhinehart and Keira Cooper.

“Nearly all of these freshmen will be making their Wolfpack Theatre Company debut,” director and teacher Greg Adkins said. “I love their enthusiasm and commitment to the project.

“Our goal is that the audience hears our message about appreciating what you have, and the tolerance and understanding that all that is different,” he said.

Performances start at 6:33 p.m. at the high school located at 375 Wolfpack Way in Kalispell.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children, students and senior citizens and may be purchased online at gofan.co, Photo Video Plus located at 284 Fourth Ave. W. in Kalispell and at the door.
