St. Luke Hospital welcomes first baby of 2026

St. Luke Community Healthcare’s first baby of the New Year arrived at the New Beginnings Birth Center at 11:49 a.m. Jan. 2.
Matias Paul Guardipee tipped scales at 6 lbs., 15 oz. and measured 19 inches long and was born to Austin and Kianna Guardipee of Ronan. He joins siblings Lyrika and Trent.
Also celebrating his arrival are paternal grandparents Robert Guardipee of Cutbank and Nikki Billedeaux of Omaha, Neb. Maternal grandparents are Randy and Vanessa Finley of Ronan.
As is customary for the year's first baby, young Matias was welcomed to the world with a roomful of gifts and gift cards donated by local businesses.
“This is such a fun celebration to be part of,” said Dr. Christina Marchion, who delivered baby Matias. “We appreciate the community coming together to welcome the first baby of the year here at St. Luke.”
