The Pearl Theater has always been the venue to see concerts and plays in Bonners Ferry, but the theater is expanding programs to include a wider variety of events. Events offered at the Pearl now include groups, workshops, a drum circle, karaoke, and much more.
Saturday, Jan. 10 — Crafternoons at the Pearl, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Participants can learn the art of pine needle basket weaving during a hands-on workshop, where each person will make and take home a customized basket. The $35 class includes all materials, including bases and pine needles. Complimentary coffee, tea and scones will be served.
Sunday, Jan. 11 — Yoga Nidra, 12:30 p.m.
Yoga Nidra is a meditation technique that is intended to take a person to the innermost levels of relaxation where the whole body and being are permeated by peace of mind and profound stillness. Combining breath, body and awareness techniques. Yoga Nidra is presented by Dana "Maha" Leska of Valley Divine Intuitive Healing Arts.
The cost is $15 online or $22 at the door. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and close at 6 p.m., no exception.
Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat, pillow, blanket and any bolsters they may want to use.

Thursday, Jan. 15 — Book Talk, 6-8 p.m.
No assigned reading. Come and chat about books. Light refreshments and wine served. Books are available for sharing.
Saturday, Jan. 17 — Winter Mirage: A Bellydance Reverie, 6 p.m.
Bellydance is a living art with deep cultural roots across the Middle East and North Africa. Grounded in centuries-old traditions of community, storytelling, and celebration, these dance forms have evolved into a modern stage art enjoyed around the world.
The performance will feature Northwest Bellydance Academy’s award-winning instructors, Nefabit, Saleenx and Thorn Trinity, both nationally recognized for their artistic excellence and teaching, along with Ashley López, an internationally touring artist and instructor who has performed and taught in more than 25 countries.

Built in 1894, the Pearl Theater was originally the first Catholic church in Bonners Ferry. The historic building is now a theater that is home to a variety of performances, arts and other events, in the community.
The Pearl Theater, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 2012 with the goal of providing quality performing arts in an intimate historic downtown art house. The Pearl Theater’s objective as a nonprofit is to foster and develop the artistic talents and skills of community members of all ages, to serve as an outreach to encourage and facilitate social activities, and to nurture excellence in the performing arts through the presentation of performing artists from the local area as well as national and international arenas.
The theater is available for rent for personal and public events.
