Eileen Mae McGuirk Thompson
The Western News | UPDATED 1 week, 4 days AGO
Eileen Mae McGuirk Thompson, 89, was called home to Glory on Jan. 4, 2026.
She was born May 20, 1936, to Harry and Meta McGuirck, and was one of 12 children.
In her own words:
I was number 10. And as Kim says, spoiled! I had six older sisters, three older brothers and two younger brothers. We all had red hair, including my mom, but my dad had sandy color hair.
We lived across the tracks from the train station in Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania. I lived there until I married Alex Thompson Aug. 17, 1957. Then we bought our home in Chester Heights, Pennsylvania. We then moved to a farm at Millerstown, Pennsylvania. From there we moved to Athol, Idaho and then to Troy, Montana where we started the Bull Lake Guest Ranch and guide service.
I worked night shift at the guard shack for the Troy Mine for about five years. After retiring the business of the Bull Lake Guest ranch, we moved to Heron, Montana for a few years until the Lord called us to Seabring, Florida, where in Alex’s words, “you don’t have to shovel sunshine.”
After the Lord called Alex home on June 1, 2015, I moved back to Montana to be closer to family. Alex and I were blessed with four children. George (wife Penny), Barrie (husband Rob), Tom (wife Kim), and Tim (wife Melinda), several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Throughout the years, Alex and I did our best to live for the Lord and raise our children in the Lord.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Romans 3:23-24, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God: Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
Services will be at noon (Pacific Coast Time) Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Clark Fork Baptist Church, 109 E. 2nd Ave., Clark Fork, Idaho, 83811.
In memory of Eileen Mae Thompson to help further the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
