Todd Michels Vandeberg, affectionately known as "Papa Todd," passed away on Jan. 5, 2026, in Libby, Montana, at the age of 61.
Born on Feb. 10, 1964, in Wolf Point, Montana, Todd lived a life marked by deep faith, unwavering generosity and a profound love for his family and community.
Todd was a devoted Christian who found strength and purpose through his active involvement in his church and recovery groups. His spiritual commitment was a guiding force throughout his life, shaping his relationships and inspiring those around him.
Known for his big heart and willingness to help anyone in need, Todd left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He found great joy in the outdoors and embraced Montana’s natural beauty through hunting, fishing, camping, racing and snowmobiling.
These passions were more than hobbies—they were opportunities for connection with loved ones and moments of peace and reflection. Above all else, Todd cherished time spent with his family. Whether gathered around a campfire or watching westerns at home, he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.
Todd is lovingly remembered by his daughters Missy Pate (Todd Pate) and Kristie Mitchell (Kevin Mitchell); grandsons Taylor Eggers, Tanner Eggers, Tristan Eggers and Raiden Pate; numerous nephews, nieces, and great-grandchildren; his fathers Jerry Michels and James Vandeberg (Mileen Vandeberg); and his brother Darren Michels.
He now joins in rest his mother Beverly Little; granddaughter Trinity Eggers; and son-in-law Corey James. Todd’s legacy is one of compassion, resilience and faith. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to live with kindness and courage. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Libby Assembly of God Church of Libby, Montana.
