POST FALLS — The new Local Market and Chevron fueling station at Highway 41 and Hope Avenue created quite a buzz with its Jan. 5 grand opening, drawing crowds with a major fuel markdown.

The enthusiasm was so strong that owners Andy Singh and Pasquale Mastantuono are rerunning the promotion.

Fuel prices will drop back to $1.24 a gallon on Tuesday, about a dollar less than the current average.

Customers can pay even less at the pump by downloading the Chevron app to get 25 cents off their first five fill-ups, Singh said, bringing the cost down to 99 cents a gallon.

The fuel deal is a way of welcoming the community to the new location and a gesture of thanks for supporting local businesses, Singh previously told The Press.

The promotion will run from 6 to 8 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, Jan. 13. Singh emphasized that customers who choose to download the Chevron app in advance should do so to keep lines moving efficiently.

A sepia-toned photograph of about 30 businessmen hangs in the office of Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber’s President and CEO, Linda Coppess. Though dressed in the fashion of decades past, the men gathered for a purpose that has endured: uplifting area businesses through the Chamber. The photo is a reminder of the Chamber’s 114 years of history, Coppess said in her address to nearly 200 attendees at Tuesday morning’s Breakfast Connect event.
