Cabinet Peaks Medical Center proudly welcomed the first baby of 2026 with the arrival of Shane Michael Eby, born at 3:52 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 1.

Shane’s birth marked a joyful start to the new year for his parents, Joseph and Kristin Eby, and for the entire Cabinet Peaks care team, including Dr. Christian, who delivered him.

Shane weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 20 inches in length.

He joins three siblings, 14-year-old Jace, 9-year-old Wesley and 5-year-old Wiley. Grandma Kelley was there and Papa helped with the brothers.

The family was also surprised with a special celebration basket made possible through the generosity of Cabinet Peaks Medical Center, Cabinet Peaks Clinics, Glacier Bank, CHC, and Libby Clinic. The basket was designed to help commemorate this meaningful milestone and welcome Shane to the community.

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is honored to be part of such special moments for local families and is proud to support mothers, babies and families with compassionate, high-quality care close to home.
