Freddie Steele Scott, 84

Freddie Steele Scott, 84, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away Jan. 7, 2026, at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho. Freddie was born Feb. 20, 1941, in Kellogg, Idaho, a son of the late Leroy and Elva (Kellogg) Scott. 

Freddie attended schools in Wallace and went on to the vocational program for heavy equipment operating at the University of Montana, and then became a miner for many years. Freddie married Karen VanKuiken in 1962, and the couple had one son, Jeffrey. 

Freddie was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding ATVs. 

In addition to his parents, Freddie is preceded in death by four brothers, Lawrence Scott, Robert Scott, Raymond Scott and Donald Scott. 

Freddie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Karen Scott of Wallace, Idaho; his son, Jeffrey (Shari) Scott of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Tyler Scott of San Diego, Calif., and Teagan Scott of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two sisters, Rose Jones of Bozeman, Mont., and Linda Wilson of Osburn, Idaho. 

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
