PREP BASKETBALL: Johnston perfect from floor, leads North Idaho Christian boys to OT win

SPOKANE VALLEY — Senior Jack Johnston hit 15 of 15 from the field and scored 33 points, including four in overtime, as the visiting North Idaho Christian Royals beat The Oaks 72-70 in Mountain Christian League play Monday night. 

Senior Noah Swartz added 13 points, junior James Morast 12 for North Idaho Christian School (9-4, 6-3 MCL). 

Matthew Singer hit six 3-pointers and scored 22 points for The Oaks (8-4, 8-3). 

North Idaho Christian heads to Kalispell, Mont., for a pair of games this weekend, beginning Friday at Stillwater Christian.

BONNERS FERRY — Junior Taren Bateman poured in 32 points as the host Badgers defeated the Wildcats in nonleague play. 

Nolie Hiatt added 12 points for Bonners Ferry (9-5). 

Senior Dani Henrikson had 15 points and nine rebounds, freshman Gretah Angle 10 points, junior Jordyn Stutzke 12 rebounds for Kellogg (7-4). 

“We struggled to finish,” said Kellogg coach Jana Nearing, whose team was 3 for 24 from 3-point range. "But the girls played hard.” 

Kellogg plays host to Priest River on Thursday in Central Idaho League play. 

Bonners Ferry plays host to Timberlake on Saturday in the Backwoods Brawl spirit games.
