Vals topple Loggers, fall to Kats

The Bigfork girls posted a convincing 50-12 win over Libby on Saturday.

The road victory evened the Valkyries' record at 4-4 heading into Tuesday's conference matchup with Polson.

Last Thursday, Columbia Falls’ Onnika Lawrence scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and the Wildkats pulled way over the middle two quarters to beat Bigfork 54-36 in Northwest A girls basketball.

Lawrence scored 10 points and Peyton Ross seven during the pivotal second quarter, when the Kats ( opened up a 27-15 lead. Lawrence hit two 3-pointers in the frame and finished with three. 

Alex Frski hit a pair of second-half triples and added 10 points for Columbia Falls. 

Paeten Gunlock poured in a game-high 20 points for the Valkyries.
